Classic Cheese Pizza

Classic cheese pizza

Simple and satisfying. A hot oven gives you that bubbly cheese top.

Ingredients

Dough

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 tsp fine salt
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Topping

  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of oregano

Steps

  1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Add water and oil, then knead 5 minutes.
  2. Rest 15 minutes. Heat oven to 475F with a sheet pan inside.
  3. Roll dough to 10 inches. Spread sauce and add cheese.
  4. Bake 12 to 15 minutes until golden.
  5. Finish with olive oil and oregano.

Notes

  • For a crispier base, preheat a pizza stone if you have one.
  • Add a pinch of chili flakes for heat.
