These bite-size samosas are perfect for parties. Pair them with warm, buttery corn for a simple, filling plate.
Ingredients
Samosas
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3 tbsp oil
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
- 1/2 cup peas
- 1 tsp cumin seeds
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- Oil for frying
Buttered corn
- 1 1/2 cups corn kernels
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Steps
- Mix flour and salt. Rub in oil, then add warm water to make a firm dough. Rest 20 minutes.
- Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, then potatoes, peas, and spices. Cook 3 minutes and cool.
- Roll dough thin, cut into small circles, and form cones. Fill and seal with water.
- Fry on medium heat until golden and crisp.
- For corn, warm butter in a pan, toss in corn, salt, and pepper for 2 minutes.
Notes
- Keep the dough firm for crisp samosas.
- Bake at 400F for 20 minutes if you prefer less oil.
