This is my go-to frosting when I want something dependable and creamy.
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, room temp
- 3 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 to 3 tbsp milk
- Pinch of salt
Steps
- Beat butter until pale and fluffy.
- Add powdered sugar in batches, then mix in vanilla and salt.
- Add milk a tablespoon at a time to reach a smooth, pipeable consistency.
Notes
- For whiter frosting, beat a few extra minutes.
- Add a squeeze of lemon if you want a brighter finish.
